Master student

I am a postgraduate student in the Master’s Degree in Ecological Management and Restoration of the Natural Environment at the University of Barcelona (UB). I also hold a degree in Environmental Engineering from the State University of the South of Manabí (UNESUM), Ecuador.

During my last year of high school at the Educational Unit Quince de Octubre, I applied to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. Upon achieving this certification, I became motivated to further develop my professional career. Later, I completed my bachelor's degree with four years of training at UNESUM, where I was part of a research team, participated in the Joa Community Local Development linkage project (Phase II), and completed internships at the Environmental Management Unit of the Autonomous Government of the Canton of Jipijapa.

My research has primarily focused on Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). My undergraduate thesis specifically examined the quantification of the Carbon Footprint (CF) of one of the four campuses at UNESUM. Additionally, I was a speaker at the I International Congress of Environmental Sciences, the results of which are currently under review and, hopefully, will be published in a scientific journal.

Currently, while pursuing my postgraduate studies at UB, I have been assisting in research related to the characterization of a plant community and its contribution to carbon stock. I am also updating the database of moratoriums and bans on fossil fuels for future digitization and quantification. Additionally, I am exploring biological, social, and other criteria that I find intriguing and plan to incorporate into my final postgraduate project.
